After some success last week, the three promoted teams all lost today without scoring a goal themselves. Tottenham, West Ham, and Reading each notched their first win of the season. Bolton still has yet to win.

Sunderland surprised the Spurs, Martins netted a brace for Newcastle, and Gerrard saved Liverpool - all this and more on the first day of the season in the Premier League.

Six draws ended the Premier League season. Sheffield United lost to Wigan and are relegated. West Ham defeated Manchester United to avoid the drop themselves. Relagted (kicked out of the league): Sheffield United, Charlton and Watford.

Manchester United have won the Premier League, they did it by beating Manchester City on Saturday and Chelsea drawing Arsenal on Sunday. In the relegation battle, West Ham's win along with Wigan's loss have lifted the Hammers out of the drop zone.

Manchester United increased their lead at the top of the table as they won and Chelsea were drawn. Liverpool, possibly looking forward to the Champions League semi-finals, lost to Portsmouth. Arsenal defeated Fulham to help tighten up the relegation battle.

Manchester United are drawn by Middlesbrough but Chelsea fail to close the gap at the top of the table as they are drawn themselves. There were five other draws over the weekend including Tottenham v Arsenal. Liverpool had a clean sheet win.

Fourth place Arsenal gained a few points on third place Liverpool as the Gunners defeated Bolton and Liverpool drew Manchester City. In FA Cup action, Manchester United and Chelsea each won their semi-final match and will face each other in the final.

Just three points now separate Manchester United and Chelsea at the top of the table as the Red Devils lost and the Blues won. West Ham improved their survival chances with a win at Arsenal. A late goal earned Liverpool the win at Reading.

A hat trick helped Liverpool defeat Arsenal at Anfield. Manchester United easily handled Blackburn. Watford were minutes away from drawing Chelsea.

Manchester United and Chelsea cruised to easy wins. Arsenal lost in injury time. Liverpool were drawn by Aston Villa.

No change at the top of the table as short-handed Manchester United beat Liverpool and Chelsea defeated Portsmouth. Arsenal got back to winning against Reading. West Ham's woes continued in a high scoring loss to Tottenham.

Liverpool took advantage of several penalty kicks in their win over Sheffield United. Manchester United increased their lead in the table with a win over Fulham. Chelsea and Arsenal faced off in the League Cup Final (Chelsea won 2-1).

Manchester United and Chelsea both won so there is no change at the top of the table, Man Utd still lead by six points. Arsenal won but Wigan gave them a scare. Liverpool had a rough time in Newcastle. At the bottom of the table, Watford beat West Ham.

Saturday Chelsea won which cut Manchester United's led by three points until Sunday when the Red Devils also won. Everton got a point off of Liverpool. Thierry Henry equalized for a ten-man Arsenal.

Manchester United and Chelsea both won so the Red Devil's lead is still six points.

Manchester United's lead increased again as they won and Chelsea were drawn yet again. Arsenal lost 1-0 at Sheffield and Liverpool won 1-0 at Tottenham.

No real surprises this round. The top five clubs all won, the bottom two clubs each lost. Fulham and West Ham fought to a scoreless draw in a London Derby. Arsenal scored six goals in their win.

West Ham beat Manchester United and Chelsea beat Everton to narrow the Red Devil's lead at the top of the table to two points. Sheffield United beat Wigan to move out of the bottom five in the table.

Manchester United increase their lead as they defeated Manchester City and Chelsea drew with Arsenal. Liverpool easily handled Fulham. West Ham lost their tenth straight away match.

Arsenal won the North London Derby and move into third place with a game in hand. Liverpool finally scored goals away from Anfield. Manchester United extended their lead at the top of the table. Sheffield United won to move out of the relegation zone.
