
With the top three in Serie A looking set, it is the fourth and final Champions' League place that looks the most interesting. Today Milan travelled to the Stadio Picchi to take on lowly Livorno, and in so doing they moved to within two points of Fiorentina and that fourth place.

Roma could only manage a 1-1 draw against Livorno and Inter sneaked past Torino with a single goal this evening. That means that Inter are now six points clear with four games to go.

With five games to go Inter maintained their four point lead with a fine 2-0 win against Fiorentina who are no push over these days. Earlier in the day Roma travelled to the Stadio Friuli to take on Udinese who still had a Champions' league place in their sights.

A Parma fan, 27 year-old Metteo Bagnaresi, was run over by a bus being driven by a Juventus supporter. Although the official line is that it was a tragic accident, there were fears of reprisals and crowd trouble.

Last night Roma replied to a screaming Kaka goal with two of their own to take the points from the world club champions Milan.

Roma travelled to the Stadio San Paolo today determined not to do what Inter did last week and lose to Napoli. With Inter winning on Saturday evening it was probably a case of win this or say goodbye to any hopes of the Scudetto.

At the Stadio San Paolo in Napoli Inter suffered their first defeat of the season this evening and, with Roma thrashing Parma 4-0 yesterday that means that Inter's lead is now reduced to just six points.

With Juventus losing on Saturday evening to Reggina, this was Roma's chance to widen the gap between themselves and Juve who were breathing down their necks, just one place and one point behind them in third place.

The big four played last night so that they'd be fresh for the Champions' League games next week, and with injury hit Milan failing to take all the points at Parma, it was a chance for Fiorentina to reclaim their fourth place in Serie A.

AC Milan played Fiorentina at the Stadio Franchi Sunday evening and came away with three points. Having floundered in the lower half of the table, they are now in fifth with a game in hand on their rivals. They are certainly looking more like the World Club Champions.

In a top of the table match, Inter came out winners 0-2 on their trip to play Fiorentina with Ibrahimovic laying on both their goals.

The international break is over, and with msot sides having contested domestic fixtures this week, there's plenty of energy left for the UEFA Cup. It may well be Europe's silver medal, but the competition is still heating up.

With Inter and Juve playing Sunday Evening, had Roma beaten Empoli they would have been level on points with Inter for at least a few hours. It was not to be.

At the Stadio Barbera Dejan Stankovic was stretchered off and Inter faltered, failing to score, although they hit Palermo's crossbar. With Inter slipping-up it was down to the chasing pack to make sure that they won their games.

Saturday evening saw Inter travelling to the Stadio Granillo to take on Reggina. Adriano scored his first of the season on a heavy pitch in driving rain.

The European champions AC Milan have been finding it difficult to find form in this year's Serie A. This evening they travelled to Rome to take on Lazio at the Stadio Olimpico. Suffering from something of a goal drought Milan really needed to find form.

The game of the week was played on Saturday evening between Roma and Inter. Both teams were unbeaten going into this game, although Roma had only managed to draw their last two games.

The early game Saturday evening saw Inter maintain their unbeaten record and achieve an enviable eleven wins on the trot.

The top two both play on Saturday evening this week. Roma take on Atalanta at the Stadio Olimpico and will be hoping to narrow the gap between themselves and Inter. Atalanta began the season well, but are now eighth having failed to win in their last three outings.
