New course sets ‘Lost’ back on track

As a show whose major selling points have always been mystery and confounded expectations, perhaps it's inevitable the eventual rescue implied in the premise of ABC's hit drama "Lost" would be turned on its ear.

It's sort of official: The relatively low ratings for ABC's V and FlashForward hurt the shows, but not enough for the network to pull the plug entirely. ABC is cutting its final order for each show by one episode, the Futon Critic site reported:

FlashForward has a big Lost connection, since there are stars from Lost in the new show and ABC hopes it takes Lost's place as the big mystery show on the network. But the premiere episode also had another connection: a possible clue for Lost's new season.
