
My nephew provided his birthday wishlist over email this year, that in and of itself a sign of the times. This list really made me laugh, so I thought I'd share:

My little girl who is three months from turning five will start attending a charter school, which makes me extremely happy, in a couple of weeks. I know she must be feeling a bit nervous and anxious about the change.

I don't know when it happened or how, but I have became my mother...Maybe even worse...

On Clipmarks recently, I came across a clip from an article discussing David Marnet, an ex-liberal who is "coming to his senses." I didn't read the article -- with my limited time and energy, I try to only read articles of real interest to me.

So its June, and many of the students are trying to figure out what they're going to do this summer. One or two are grousing about their summer jobs - one even got herself fired already (from the horse stables - they claim she had no work ethic.

I grew up in the country in Maryland. In the woods behind my house there was a stream that gurgled while the birds sang and the dragon flies tried to land on the water. As a little kid I loved that place. It was my hideaway, my secret place of wonder, peace and magic.
