Correction: Iraqi refugees story

In an Oct. 15 story about Iraqi refugees in Syria heading home on a free trip organized by the Iraqi government, The Associated Press erroneously attributed details to a U.N. official, Ayman Gharabiyah. It was Adnan al-Shourifi, an Iraqi Embassy official, who said that each returning family will receive around $850 in cash along with an extra monthly payment of $145 for the next six months and that returnees would also get their houses and jobs back.

China, Iraq reach $3 billion oil service deal

China and Iraq have signed a $3 billion deal revising a prewar agreement for China's biggest oil company to help develop the Ahdab oil field, an official at the Iraq's Oil Ministry said Thursday.
