The Democratic chairman of the House Appropriations Committee is demanding greater accountability from the the Obama administration after gross inaccuracies were found on a government Web site that tracks jobs purportedly saved or created by the $787 billion stimulus plan.

It's been reported that out of the 12.2 trillion dollars committed, 2.5 trillion dollars or so has been injected into the U.S. economy during last 18 months by the federal government.

For the past year we have listened to the jobs disappear month after month, one story worse than the next.

Looking for signs of recovery in a local economy can be a tough task at times. The indicators are subtle. Positive signs of recovery can be discovered in reading the weekly classified section of a regional news paper. In this case, I am referring to THE REGISTER-GUARD.

In a recent article writen by A.P.'s Elaine Kurtenbach, it became apparent that the Chinese government may in fact have a better grasp on the world economy then the Obama administration does.

(Since I asked Senator Hutchison to explain her reasoning as to why tax cuts were superior to job creation, I have not had an answer. This is the latest missive to the esteemed senator requesting an explanation of her reasoning.)
