This article has been written to congratulate our Good News Wednesday members for the continued success of our good news effort.

Logging on a few minutes ago I noticed that the only articles and seeds that were on my column page were the ones placed after april 1st.
The comments are also gone.
I thought it was new format ,at first....but no "show more" button was available .

Dear Fellow Viners,
Slanted Surveys & Statistics Lesson PlanSource: crayola.com
Research and facts to support ideas are everywhere. Critical readers and listeners understand that sometimes this information can be misleading. Authors and surveyors can manipulate statistics to support their ideas in ways that stretch the truth.

It's the time of the month again - Check out your earnings! ( No matter how small it may be =-() )

The first thing I like to say is:
Happy Chinese New Year to all Newsvine people!
Next, I'll like to give a little suggestion to improve Newsvine. Maybe it has been mentioned before - I'm not that sure. Still, I'll like to voice it out.

For the past week, I've noticed some odd behavior on Newsvine's Most Active Stories module as well as the Conversation Tracker.

I've been spending a lot of time on Newsvine lately...perhaps too much (and not because of any fighting or other silliness, I just need to moderate more effectively) and really have to say that I love this place.

I was so excited when I saw Stolte-Sawa's invitation to participate in a Newsvine Gift Swap; I love gift exchanges, especially those of the white elephant variety.

Back in early December, I created the Invite-A-Blogger Mini-Challenge. And as I promised, the results are in.
The scoring is as follows: one point per invite, five points per accepted invite.
And now, without further ado, here are the names (in chronological order):

Over a year ago, Lance (for you n00bs, a Newsvine staffer) posted a comment mentioning that a rich text (or WYSIWYG) editor is coming to Newsvine. But 13 months later, there's still no sign of it being enabled by default.

Now that Newsvine's officially part of MSNBC, let's start opening it up, eh? My idea is to invite as many well known bloggers and journalists. The more, the merrier. And the more they come, the more Newsvine will grow, not only in numbers but in publicity.

This post marks both the conclusion of the 1st Annual Newsvine De-Lurker week and Mini Challenge, and the beginning of a new group, Welcomevine, created to give Newsviners a more permanent space to introduce ourselves to each other over time.

PhotoVine is a new group for the Newsvine photographer. I'm inviting anyone who has an interest in snapping pictures. Check it out for tutorials, tips, tricks, tools, and reviews to take a better picture.

During De-Lurkers Week so far, it's been established that most, if not all of us self-identify as lurkers at one time or another, on one site or another. That in itself is interesting information that I'll come back to in a moment.

I hereby declare the Week of November 25 to December 1, 2007 to be Newsvine De-Lurker Week! In honor of the fact that I joined about two years ago in November, then lurked for a few months before I got up the courage to comment on anything, or to add any information to my page.

Finally won the race for the monthly earnings article (though it was kinda ripped off of lauhal's comment. But she didn't write the article, so I think it's ok ;-))
There also seems to be a new change:

As October marks my one year anniversary on Newsvine, I have decided to get serious and finally write some articles, the first (How Private Developers Plan to Profit from a 90-Year Old Lake Michigan Park Donated "For the Children") of which was posted yesterday.

Now that we have Google Analytics installed, I thought it might be interesting to see who reads my blog. I found some very interesting facts (from Aug 20 - present):

As you may have noticed, June earnings have been posted. That reminded me of a comment Brian Ford left:

And mine are double last months. What a thrill.
How did everybody else do?
Boosts in earnings not only tell me that I'm doing well, but also that Newsvine itself is doing well, and getting more and better advertisers.
What were yours?

There has been recently (oh, who am I kidding, there always has been) a lot of discussion going on around the vine that I would define as meta-discussion: how to improve the Vine, how to improve writing on the Vine, how to stop acting like @!$%#s and improve discussion on the …

In the ongoing VineTune Presidential Elections underway at present, Mel Coulter has launched her excellent campaign stand. Being forthright and well prepared, she has already announced members of her cabinet.

I've been talking a lot lately about my latest crusade. Specifically, I'd like it to be as easy to find well-written material on Newsvine as it is to find material written by the popular kids.
