So I could ramble on about how I have NEVER seen lightning like this, how it looked as if we were in War of the Worlds 2, or how I have NEVER seen lightning like this before.. oh, wait,, see I would ramble.
Instead I will just write about the storm.

Okay, so it was just a Tuesday.
"What's a Tuesday?" asked Pooh.
"It just is".

So... just like every other day this week, we sat here, listening to the weather man tell us that we had a thirty percent change of rain.. same ol' same ol'.
Here in Mesa we are used to it raining all around us, and never getting any ourselves.

I am excited as I wait for the remnants of Dolly the hurricane to get sucked up into our Monsoonal flow and bring us oodles of rain.
Oodles is a technical term, I know this, because it is the word the "meteorologist" on the local news used to describe the rain we might get.

Monday evening, sitting here watching the kids play Guitar Hero, and my phone rings.
It is my older son, who lives maybe 5 miles East of us, "Are you outside?" he asks.
"No, why?" I reply.

So.. yesterday started out like all of the other days... hot, sticky, teasing.......
Then something happened. A storm, a BIG storm, moved into the valley and stayed.
We ended up with over 3 inches of rain in Mesa, I would say more then that at our house.

So for some reason the powers that be decided to pick a date on the calendar to be the start of the Arizona monsoon. This date came and went over two weeks ago, and I am still waiting for some signs.
