MSNBC Interactive News LLC said it acquired Newsvine Inc., a small Seattle startup that lets visitors read and comment on news stories from mainstream media outlets.

I love polls. One of the greatest parts of Newsvine (IMHO) is asking people questions and getting their response. It comes from a real genuine curiosity about how people feel about many different things.

Newspapers seem to be less available each year. Newspaper boxes used to be outside many stores, on street corners, outside almost all restaurants. Lately they are much harder to find.

A family member recently challenged me to see if I could give up Newsvine at least for a week, and when I re-examined her points of view. I had to agree with her.
I had an unpleasant experience with Newsvine Friday PM October 16, 2009. The web site "hung" repeatedly, and I suspect that the electronic malfunctions are damaging my software in my computer.
Reflecting on all the people that live in the Newsvine cyber world and those that have vanished. A big neighborhood of people and conversation and a plethora of information being exchanged and discussed. A new found peer group to incorporate into our daily lives.

I bought a brand new computer, an Intel Pentium. I came with Norton security. The first thing it does is that it recommends that I NOT enter Newsvine. Well, I did anyway. Now, four days later, Norton detected a threat.
1814 spammers were reported via the Anti-Spam group in September 2009. Bear in mind that this is only the spam reported via the group and not the full extent of spam hitting Newsvine.

I was quite impressed by how Aunk titles himself, and how he greets posters who comment on his contributions. I liked it, and something in the back of my mind kind of felt he was on to something big, and potentially quite helpful for overall relations and satisfaction on the vine.
