On Monday one of my Newsvine friends told me the sad news that her husband had just been laid off.

Last week, I ran an article about the problems that Newsvine was having with moderation, bad behavior, trolling, and gang voting. All the hot button issues, wrapped up into one neat article, that could have spelled trouble within the first couple of posts.

It's been awhile since we launched Newsvine Groups. As we ramp up toward launching newly-redesigned groups, I'd like to solicit feedback on the most desired features for Newsvine Groups V2.

The Newsvine team would like to recognize the exceptional work of Shawn Gordon, in independently compiling and publishing the first-ever Newsvine book: The Unofficial Vine.

Hey folks.

The Newsvine Team is happy to introduce Tyler Adams as Newsvine's newest team member and Community Moderator.

I am sorry to inform the Newsvine Community that Emily has left the company to pursue other endeavors. I will let her speak to what those are exactly, if she chooses to. Prior to introducing the person who is taking her place, I will be handling all moderation on the site.

Over the last several months, the Newsvine Staff has been working with the folks at msnbc.com on a new form of "message board". We're calling them "Question Boards" and they are designed to achieve the following things:

Recently I was involved in yet another smackdown on the Vine. I took exception to some careless remarks against the Roman Catholic Church, to which I nominally belong.

At the end of the day -- after you've spent lots of time on Newsvine, Digg, Mixx, Readdit, and other sites where you can read articles and post comments, do you really feel like you've made the world a better place? If not, are you ready to take your comments to the next level?

Hello Folks! It's been awhile since I've written a non-Newsvine Cyborg article, but I thought that I'd point out a recent article that flew under my radar (and apparently, all of yours'), Mike Stuckey's "An inside look at the Gut Check America project".

I would like to introduce Emily, Newsvine Team member #7 and Community Moderator.

Greetings everyone!

You taught mankind that pen is mightier than the sword; that variety is a spice of life; that in absence the heart grows fonder; that beauty is in the eye of the beholder; that good things come in small packages; that the first step is always the hardest; that practice makes perf …

I just had an idea.

As a direct result of the recent poll some of us have identified a need for a new group to cater for the many varied needs of the ...ahem...more experienced citizen journalists who frequent this wonderful virtual community which is newsvine.
To that end I have created NAFF.

I did the best search I could before writing this article. I wanted to make sure that I wasn't re-visiting a stale topic.
My checks came up blank, using tags and text searches so I decided to go ahead with it.

It seems that Newsvine has suddenly become 'The establishment'.
Disgruntled 'ex-contributers' will now feel more emboldened, (embiggened :¬)) and so much more justified, in attacking the newly turned traitor for no other reason than the perceived turning.
The vindictive, foul mo …

I have to admit it. I've been learning a lot during my limited time on the Vine. I joined as a mostly fundamentalist Christian. Yes, a conservative (with occasional liberal leanings). This has not changed.

I'm not sure how best to put this. I am an @!$%#. No, wait -- that's too strong. I have assholish opinions. Much better. I can't possibly be offended by that, because, somehow, it's less personal.

Looking around on Newsvine I see that some contributors do actually specialise - to an extent.
When I joined (Just a few weeks ago) I was sure that I wanted to concentrate on all things European, indeed, my tag line read 'Bringing Europe to your desktop'.

2006 I decided that iwas going to get married to the man that I had been dating for a while. Little did I know that this man would be my worst nightmare. and i would forever old him in my heart as my enemy.
