A published report reveals the Paula Abdul has big ambitions for an upcoming Las Vegas revue. In fact, the singer-dancer-choreographer is said to have her sights set on nothing less than a stage-to-small screen sensation.

In an interview with TV Guide, the former “American Idol” judge wouldn’t come right out and say that she would never return to ‘Idol.’

Focus groups to decide Paula’s ‘Idol’ fate

Guest judges due to take turns in Abdul’s old “Idol” seat aren’t just filling in; they’re also helping Fox figure out how much the past panelist is worth.

Who will replace Paula Abdul on ‘Idol’?

Paula's particular blend of sympathy and loopiness is irreplaceable, but there are still a number of women who could fill her soundbite quota.  Posh Spice would love the job, but what about Lil Kim or Queen Latifah?

Advice for ‘Idol’: Judges, host need to move on

With the chemistry of the "American Idol" judges' table dramatically altered, now is as good a time as any for the show's remaining stars to reflect and make some much-needed changes.

The great muzzle-the-judges experiment is over on “American Idol.” Unfortunately, disco night didn’t follow that into the dustbin of pop culture history.

Tidbits: ‘Idol’ dilemma: Cut Kara, or can Paula?

If “American Idol’s” new two-reviews-per-contestant policy proves anything, it’s that four’s a crowd on the show’s bloated panel.

PRO: Adam Lambert is ‘Idol’s’ only star

There's still a month and a half to go until "American Idol" crowns its champion, and anyone left in the competition could come out on top. But if it ended right now, there's no question that Adam Lambert would be the most deserving winner.

Women remain vulnerable on ‘American Idol’

In its annual effort to make younger viewers switch from Top 40 radio to oldies stations, “American Idol” brought back the songs-from-your-birth-year theme this week. That left most focusing on the 1980s catalogue, and since few 1980s songs are still hits these days, the judges tended to be unhappy with the song choices and arrangements that resulted.

Vast song choice trips up some ‘Idols’

The judges gave the remaining “American Idol” finalists a lot of rope this week, allowing them to sing any top iTunes download. That freedom proved to be a mixed blessing, as Tuesday brought some brutal song choices and bizarre looks.

‘Idol’ judges’ disrespect is out of control

For $45 million a year, you'd think Simon Cowell could at least look interested for three hours a week while he judges "American Idol."

Danny Gokey comes out strong on ‘Idol’

The “American Idol” judges shocked everyone a week ago by adding an extra finalist to the mix, and apparently, the show isn’t finished with the surprises.

Four judges is one too many for ‘Idol’

Of all the changes announced for the eighth season of "American Idol," perhaps none was more hotly debated ahead of time than the addition of songwriter Kara DioGuardi as a fourth judge.

Louisville auditioners strike sour note on ‘Idol’

"American Idol" headed to Churchill Downs in Louisville, home of the Kentucky Derby. About 11,000 showed up to the city's auditions, and only 19 advanced to Hollywood. That made for 579-1 odds, officially turning the crowd into the longest of longshots to hit the track this racing season.

Inspiring stories help ‘Idol’ wannabes advance

Aspiring singers who watched "American Idol's" trip to San Francisco got a crash course in how to ensure success when Simon Cowell, Paula Abdul, Randy Jackson and Kara DioGuardi arrive in their hometown.

Scoop: ‘Betty’ pitching in for Hillary Clinton

While all eyes were on the auto bailout last week, another bailout of sorts was taking shape: One for Sen. Hillary Clinton, who has racked up $7.5 million in campaign debt.

‘Idol’ final seems a lock to be battle of Davids

With just one week to go until the “American Idol” season finale, Ryan Seacrest made it clear that it’s anybody’s competition to win. Each contestant was reportedly within a million votes of each other a week ago, so it wouldn’t take much to make a difference.

Wake me when ‘American Idol’ is over

This will sound incredibly ridiculous to just about every single person reading this, but it’s actually my job to sit on my couch and watch “American Idol” with my friends. I’m sorry if you have a really boring sales meeting coming up in 15 minutes and you’re just killing time on the Internet until then and I just made you start daydreaming about how awesome it would be to get paid money to watch TV. But that’s my job. Really.

It’s down to 3 on ‘Idol’ as Jason says goodbye

It’s been a tough week for “American Idol,” which made the news for its declining viewership and the unfortunate Paula Abdul comments on last week’s show stand out that much more. Fortunately, the “Idol” fans helped make things a little brighter for the show’s final two weeks by evicting the contestant who least deserved to be in the final three.

Jason Castro has a disastrous ‘Idol’ night

Jason Castro has spent the past three months perfecting his image as the slacker dude with the guitar who doesn’t try very hard but sneaks by on his natural gifts and personality. Every week, the judges have gotten more and more annoyed at his style, but it doesn’t seem to faze him.

A bit of a mystery has emerged on the first night of "American Idol's" season proper...It has been determined that Joanna Pacitti is ineligible to continue in the competition.

American Idol - Louisville

Weclome to Luavul. They did it at Churchill Downs, Trying to invoke the image of a horse race. If Idol is a horse race, they saddled a bunch of donkeys in San Francisco. Will tonight be better? (Is it possible to BE worse???) What was the idea of arriving in 4 separate limos?

American Idol - San Francisco - Night 3

Back to the home of William Hung. Not a great thing to recommend the venue!

American Idol Kinder and Gentler - Not tonight!

The first contestant thought she really could sing. Simon was really snarky. He just could not maintain it I guess! "It sounded like a cat falling off the Empire State Building." Randy joined in. The females came to her defense.

Idol Elimination 4/17: Too many Cooks in the Kitchen
Source: The Sub.Standard

Curse you, Seacrest! I've been waiting to use that tag line for weeks and you just had to use it before me. Idol lost the last of its dead weight tonight with the elimination of Kristy Lee Cook, the unofficial ambassador of the country vote.

American Idol - April Fool's Edition - Review/Recap

Of course it had to start out with a lame "April Fool's" joke. Ryan talked about "squeezing" 9 performances in an hour. All they have to do is stop all the extraneous crap. Give each of the nine contestants 4 minutes. It would still leave 6 minutes for Ryan's useless prattling.

American Idol - Finals Show 2 - Recap/Review

We get another "Beatles" night. Things do not look good. They only got rights to 25 songs in the Lennon-McCartney collection. Of course, when Ryan is hyping the show he does not tell us that. They say they 'expanded' to the Beatles. How expanded remains to be seen.

American Idol Finals - 1st Elimination

One question, if they are the worst by national vote, why do we have to hear them sing badly again?

American Idol - Finals - Elimination 1 - (Recap/Review)

We get a new set. "Bigger and better than ever," says Ryan. Does the set make the singing better? One would hope but it is highly doubtful. Tonight Randy was in black and Simon wore a white collared dress shirt, slightly unbuttoned. Paula was there too.

American Idol - Down to 12 - (Recap/Review)

For some reason we had to endure Blake Lewis. He was one who came "close". He demonstrated why he lost. The song was uninspiring. He did a lot of prancing around that must have been meant to substitute for real choreography. He did a bit of his "robot" near the end.

American Idol - Last Women Only - (Recap/Review)

Ryan starts out by telling Randy that he seems too nice this year. He has not been very critical at all and not constructive. He is only slightly less a cheerleader than Paula.

American Idol - The Last Men's Elimination (Recap/Review)

We get the 'embarrassing' moments tonight. I wonder if we get to hear about the male on male stripper? Do the embarrassing moments for the producers count? Speaking of embarrassing, for some reason the last article did not publish even after it said it did.

American Idol - The Women - Week 2 (recap/review)

We are getting less hype now. Have they run out of exaggeration? Randy said that they had to know what they sing best. The songs are 70's Classics.

American Idol - The Men II -(Recap/Review)

Ryan started with a lot less hype tonight. The remaining ten and the judges were introduced. It was claimed that Paula had a hit song. Not if he was referring to that atrocious video from last week.

American Idol - First Results Show

Coming into the program I was a bit surprised by the results of the MSNBC poll about which men should go home. Chikezie Eze and Danny Noriega were neck and neck at 25% and 23% to be the ones to go. My picks Garrett Haley (17%) and Luke Menard (15%) were a distant third and fourth.

American Idol - The Top 12 Females (A Recap/Review)

We start with the usual hype written for Ryan about the "best talent ever. " Randy says that the boys really did well. I wonder if he was watching a different show. Simon admitted he likes people that stand up to him.

American Idol - The 12 Men (Recap/Review)

We finally get to the singing. Well, not really. We get a load of useless crap or recrap. Ryan once again claims that this is the season with the "most talent ever." It took 10 minutes to get to the actually singing. Songs of the Sixites is the theme tonight.

American Idol - The Final 24 (A Review)

This episode starts with a lame sequence with "Darth Vader". We then get to the final 50(?). The judges are going over the candidates. Ryan gives us the usual hype about the talent being the "best" ever. The judges work very hard to decide.

American Idol - Hollywood (A Review)

We started with 164 in the "brand new" Hollywood week. At least according to Ryan. We get a recap of the traps and pitfalls of being in Hollywood in past years. The second round has two new twists. Everyone gets a second chance if they bungle the first try.

American Idol - Atlanta (A Review) - It's Over!

We meet Ryan's parents. Seems he is from Atlanta. He either never had a Southern accent or had an expensive operation. This is where one of the best singers, Clay Aiken, came from.
