In the anticipated release of Google's new and improved Picasa, the company will offer facial recognition technology to help you identify friends and family in your pictures without requiring you to tag them by-hand each time you see them.

Google has been busy today. Not only did they release their new browser, Chrome, but they are also releasing a new version of the offline photo management software, Picasa 3 plus a nifty new feature in Picasaweb called Facial Tagging.

Recently we told about new service from Google - Picasa Web Albums. For job with it last version Picasa which is registered behind number 2.5 Beta is required. But besides integration with Web Album, in new Picasa there is more many an interesting.

From the article: Google announced today on its blog it had acquired Neven Vision, a photo recognition firm whose background is in biometrics, for an undisclosed sum. The technology is to be incorporated into Google's Picasa to improve search of personal photo collections.

It seems Google is starting to make their web services more integrated, providing links to other account services at the top of some pages.
