As the Milwaukee River rose over its banks this week, Saukville residents came together, helping one another sandbag homes and offering support and food to those whose properties were threatened by the biggest flood in two decades.

For several years, the Messina Italian restaurant owners in Saukville have unsuccessfully worked with two state legislators to change a state law that limits the number of liquor licenses that can be issued.
