The inspiration for this annual challenge (Both a movie one, and a reading one) came from livejournal where I temporarily blogged in 2006.

This is the first part of a two part interview. I just today emailed off the questions for part two so it'll be at least a week before that part gets published. Part two will focus more on the book's contents.

Cheat sheet:
Scott = Terry
Andre = Owen, & his wife, Melissa
Ray = Joe

As with most of my reviews I won't attempt to do a full recap. There is a pretty good recap here at gather.com. I also seeded this review of the episode here.

Mini-review:
This show kicks ass and I'm so disappointed it got cancelled. Shows I like but I think are just so so at times, like V and FlashForward, pale in comparison to this series. Now I can just hope that Fringe is renewed and does not suffer the same fate.

A few preliminaries:
First, this will not be a full recap or summary of the show. If you want that, read the official recap-summary from the Fox site.
Second, if you are looking for Polite Dissent's review of the show's medical inaccuracies try here. and I seeded it here

"A show about a glee club? You have to be kidding!" That was my initial reaction to this show.

So I seeded several stories about V - links below - but held out hope it was better than the reviewers said it was.
Today I sat down and watched it while also reading Television Without Pity'ssnarky but spot on criticisms of it, listing here my favorite comments from it.

First my usual disclaimer, caveat and reminder
I have given up on the idea of recapping this series. Instead I'll link to one of the many sites that DOES do a summary/recap (in this case you can find recaps and "Walter's Notes" here

Put simply, Horse Boy, the book and movie, are about a family who take their son, Rowan, aka Horse Boy, to Mongolia. Rowan is autistic and loves animals, especially horses, so why not take them to a horse-based culture? The book and movie follow them along their adventure.

Last night I saw the band Clem Snide for the second time (both times in Austin) and what a difference six years can make. It took less than six years for some bands I loved in high school and college (bands like REM and U2 ) to become too poppy and mainstream and redundant for me.

How you view (and review) last night's episode pretty much depends on, well, how you view it.

I wrote this out in long-hand, not because I'm old school but during those dark days last November; when I couldn't get my laptop back, fixed or replaced by Best Buy.

Review in a nutshell: The show is trying to make us care about characters which are already pretty uninteresting. Last month and earlier this month that meant trying to get us readers into plot lines about 13 and Foreman.

When seventeen year old Bella Swan moves from her mom's house in sunny Phoenix, Arizona to her dad's place in the small community of Forks, Washington,where the weather is often rainy and gloomy, she has no idea of how her life will change.

I mentioned last week - in my Fringe piece - how hard it is to recap and review some tv series particularly the two I've taken to chronicling, namely Fringe and House.
