State police said a 23-year-old man clocked driving at more than 130 mph on an upstate New York road is facing multiple traffic charges. Police said a trooper spotted Michael DiBernardino's 2004 Mitsubishi Lancer doing 134 mph in a 55-mph zone Tuesday afternoon in the Dutchess County town of Pawling, near the Connecticut border 65 miles north of New York City.

Salem woman accused of driving 103 worked for DMV

A woman accused of driving 103 mph with her 10-year-old grandson was on leave from a job at the state Driver and Motor Vehicle Services. The 53-year-old driver was arrested Sunday on charges of reckless driving and reckless endangering. Investigators said she told them she was teaching her grandson about the dangers of speeding, telling him not to drive as she was about to.

Motorcyclist jailed for speeding with son on back

A British judge has sentenced a motorcyclist to six months in jail after he was caught speeding 122 mph with his 14-year-old son clinging to the back. A police video shows the man speeding down a road in southern England. Police clocked the motorcycle going more than twice the 60 mph limit. It also showed images of the man's son who was not wearing proper protective gloves or pants.

Neb. motorcyclist nabbed after chase hits 145 mph

A 23-year-old motorcyclist was jailed after a 5-minute chase at speeds reaching 145 on U.S. Highway 77 on Wednesday evening. The Nebraska State Patrol said a trooper tried to pull the man over, but he accelerated, eventually hitting 145 mph.

Cops clock man driving 137 mph in '93 Honda Civic

State police have ticketed an upstate New York man for driving more than twice the 65-mph speed limit on an interstate highway. Troopers said a 21-year-old man was clocked doing 137 mph on Interstate 84 in Orange County on Tuesday. He was pulled over in the westbound lanes near Exit 2 in the town of Greenville, on the New Jersey border 60 miles northwest of New York City.

Man beats speeding ticket by saying sign too small

A Spring Creek man who beat a $62 ticket has created a legal speed trap that could cost Elko County and his neighbors much more. James Killian, a civil engineer with the Nevada Department of Transportation, argued the ticket he received in April for going 39 mph in a 25 mph zone was unenforceable because the speed limit sign was too small and didn't comply with uniform traffic codes adopted by the state in 2003.
