Being a StumbleUpon member for four years and three months as of this posting, I have certainly seen the evolution of spam proliferation on this ever-increasingly-popular social bookmarking/ reviewing/ networking site.Spam in our SU account inboxes. Spam in the SU forums.

If the numbers that I'm seeing and that Ian are seeing are correct, it's possible that between 2000-4000 blogs were tossed out of the index - splogs, flogs, and who knows what else.

Splogs are the latest thing in online scams – and they could smother the Internet.

An interesting look (with charts!) at the world of blogs as tracked by Technorati. I think this is a sign that blogging is not quite on its way out just yet. Of course, many new blogs are strictly splogs, or spam blogs.
