Bartender Erik Cardona, 28, was voted out of the newly merged tribe, and became the first jury member and this season's biggest blindside. "Wow, wow, wow," he said after being voted out while holding a hidden immunity idol, which he didn't play because "you can't defend against something that's invisible." His strategizing around camp seemed to freak everyone out, so they got rid of one of Galu's strongest players instead of picking off one of the weaker former Foa Foas.

New York lawyer Elizabeth Kim, 33, was voted off Foa Foa. Russell was annoyed by her constant talking — and by the threat she posed to his strategy. Liz knew she was at risk if only because she was one of the tribe's physically weaker members, but Jaison's poor performance during the immunity challenge almost saved her. Almost.

Russell Swan, the hard-working leader of Galu, was removed out of the game after passing out during the reward challenge, but he kept fighting until the end. Lying on the ground with medical personnel around him and a tear-stained cheek, Russell said, weakly, “I'm good, let's go.” But he wasn't. When he sat up, his heart rate dropped from 97 to 68, and he was back on the ground, eyes open, looking almost dead. Later, he told us that being pulled was “the worst thing I've ever felt in my life. ... To have my body fail me is utterly demoralizing.”

Ashley Trainer, 22, the recent college graduate from Maple Grove, Minn., was voted out of "Survivor Samoa" after Foa Foa lost yet again. While the tribe said they didn't know who they'd vote for going into Tribal Council, because it was raining and they couldn't strategize individually, everyone ended up voting for Ashley. That's probably because she didn't help at all in the immunity challenge and single-handedly lost the reward challenge for them. Oops.

A suburban Pittsburgh man slept soundly as his home caught on fire and partially collapsed. It wasn't until firefighters did a walk-through of the home more than two hours later that he woke up. Ross Township Fire Marshal John Reubi said he was "flabbergasted" that anyone survived the blaze. It broke out around 2:40 a.m. Sunday and was reported by a passer-by.

Los Angeles hair stylist Yasmin Giles, 33, became Galu's first reject after their first loss of the season sent them to Tribal Council, where they near-unanimously voted her out. Her napping seemed to be the biggest reason, although Yasmin claimed she always did whatever others asked of her. Tribe leader Russell S. pointed out that “every time there was a challenge, Yasmin kicked it out,” so he wanted everyone to vote for Monica, because as he asked rhetorically, “Do I want cutesiness or do I want performance?”

Now in its 19th season, "Survivor" has been remarkably resilient. There have been ups and downs, but there's never been a season that was a complete dud. Unfortunately, that streak may be coming to an end with this season, which is so far the closest thing Mark Burnett has ever produced to a complete failure.

Amid torrential downpours and blistering heat on "Survivor Tocantins," there have been dragon slayings and cross-tribe alliances, blindsides and surprises. As a result, over the course of 11 episodes, cast members have definitely made an impression as they battled for $1 million in the Brazilian highlands. Whether they crafted smart alliances, like Taj, or were just all-around characters, like bus driver Sandy, most of them are memorable, whether they're endearing or annoying.
