Report: Thousands Wrongly on Terror List

Thousands of people have been mistakenly linked to names on terror watch lists when they crossed the border, boarded commercial airliners or were stopped for traffic violations, a government report said Friday.

A recent Government Accountability Office report found that 963 background checks during gun purchases found applicants matching names on the terrorist watch list and 865, or more than 90 percent, of these purchases were allowed because there was no legal way to stop them.

This is just plain bizarre. Perhaps it gives us a small insight into the somewhat random workings of the Dept. for Homeland Security... Even more oddly, the child's mother wasn't on the list - just the kid.
