
Milwaukee Brewers slugger Ryan Braun says he has been contacted by "The Bachelor" and asked to be on the show.
Apparently not worried about needing help finding love, or simply eager to maintain some self-respect, Braun said thanks, but no thanks to the show.

Since the beginning of this season of The Bachelorette, DeAnna Pappas has worn her heart on her sleeve. At each rose ceremony, DeAnna has either cried or been on the verge of crying; once she even left the ceremony in order to compose herself.

ABC released its 2008-09 prime-time schedule this morning during a press conference call conducted by Steve McPherson, president of ABC Entertainment. I listened in and got the rundown:

As some of you know I watch the bachelor. I came out last season. It's all so over the top, the girls, the "romance" and the giving of roses, it has a way of just sucking me in; and I'm okay with that…For now at least…

Okay, I know I'm going to catch some flack for even watching the show...but I don't watch TV for intellectual stimulation, that's what I come to Newsvine for. For me television is like brain junk food.
