This was certainly a good year in music. While not as ridiculously strong as 2007, 2008 had more than its fair share of fantastic releases. Over the course of the next week ScooterDMan, Evan Mix and myself will list our picks for the best albums of the year.

Ah yes - the classic US music vs UK music debate. Having spent the past three years in London shooting a music documentary, I've often found myself discussing this over pints on chilly rainy nights. In a recent issue of NME magazine, this topic is being dusted off yet again.

Rain has an interesting effect on live shows. With bad music playing it can reinforce every negative aspect of the experience, heighten criticism and leave an audience not only bored but also cold and slightly miserable.

TV On The Radio have told of their friendship with David Bowie. The mutual appreciation society led to the singer duetting with the band on 'Province', a track from the band's acclaimed 2006 album 'Return To Cookie Mountain'.
