It wouldn't be Turkey Day without these classic ingredients, but there are excellent reasons to eat them on other days, too: They're delicious, easy to cook, and each happens to be a nutritional superstar.

For some people the eating of meat is a decision that hinges on health reasons or religious issues or political issues such as animal protection. For me there is no question. I eat meat. I eat fowl and beef and pork and seafood, the same way I eat vegetables.

To save money , lose weight, and feel comforted, I decided to try a few new (old) things. Like Chicken cooked in a slow cooker, de-boned and added to the soup pot.

Here we are in mid June and I was wondering how everyone's garden is growing? I planted mine in mid May and the tomatoes are starting to get small fruits on them, the cucumbers are just getting a good leafy start and the peppers are showing a lot of blossoms but not much else.
