Well, I picked Eric up at Midway tonight around 8:45. We picked up some booze and a toothbrush at the store, and headed back to my place for some pulled pork--I put that roast in the crock pot this morning at around 7 a.m., and it was sweet and tender.
In my Resolutions for Newsvine Use in 2008 I said I'd try to return to spotlighting, weekly or monthly, some of the best original reporting and writing I've come across at Newsvine.
Lauhal and I have corresponded both via Newsvine and privately via email for months and months, and for some reason, though we live a mere 15 minutes away from each other, we only have just gotten around to meeting up in real life.

Hey everybody! I'm writing this from a laptop in the AT&T air conditioned tent. I made my way downtown this morning, checked in at the Hard Rock Hotel for an event later on tonight which I'll be covering, and hopped into a cab to the media entrance of Lollapalooza.
Here is where Scott Butki and I will get our babble on and entertain you folks this evening. I guess there's some rules, but I don't remember what they are and I don't suppose it really matters.
