The Dishonesty of David BrooksSource: Editor & Publisher
David Brooks does such a better job when he is at a "round table" with Jim Lehrer and Mark Scheels. The setting is not one sided and credit is give where credit is due no matter the party. The short program is actually informative and interesting.

Commentary on the similarities between Biden and Palin's response during the VP Debate to questions around marriage for gay and lesbian couples. Kate Clinton makes some key observations about the LGBT community's relationship to the Obama/Biden ticket.

It's been reiterated in many ways - this woman is not fit to serve.
Joe Biden Beats Up a Woman With Glasses:Source: rudepundit.blogspot.com
Could Republicans just stop pretending here? Regarding the debate between Joe Biden and Sarah Palin, David "Where's the Salad Bar, Applebee's?" Brooks, with his deep understanding of "real" people, actually said in the New York Times that Palin was "vibrant and tactically clever. …

Okay, maybe the title is a bit of a stretch. After spending most of the day in various forums and reading the news from..I don't remember exactly...it seems we are back to the polarization unseen since the Democrat primaries of 2008.
Inside The Heads Supporting PalinSource: National Review Online
This opinion piece by Rich Lowry, in his National Review online column, is offered as a sincere endorsement of Sarah Palin's performance in the debate. It shows her appeal to the base, that's a wink atcha Joe Six Pack!!

Watching last night's debate, I drew one clear conclusion: Sarah Palin is the female George Bush. She did during the debate exactly what Bush did to attract the voters who helped him win the 2000 election.

Sorry--I cannot give you a source, I got this from a friend this AM via e-mail...had a good laugh with it.
My guess is you can put your cursor over the picture and click to enlarge it...or download it...it's good for a laugh...

I had a debate party last night, and -- problems with the DVR notwithstanding -- it was a pretty great night. I've picked a few moments from the debate that got the biggest reactions from the crowd at my apartment

Overall, I would say that Palin delivers the pre-rehearsed package much better than McCain, and Biden stammers. However, when she said that she wasn't going "to answer the questions the way she was supposed to," (paraphrase) I was taken aback and said WTF.

My absolute last comment on the VP debate. Sarah Palin won. Of course, this is only my opinion.

I think overall it was mostly a draw as far as the goals for the evening for each campaign... it shored up support for both bases. Biden was reassuring and gracious and did nothing to hurt Obama, and Sarah relieved some nervous nellies on the right. It comes down to tactics vs.

Since McCain's choice of Palin, most of us have watched aghast as she stumbled over her words and illustrated her obviously uninformed grasp of ideologies and situations on the American scene.
Palin Wins By Not LosingSource: TIME: Real Clear Politics
Entering tonight's debate, the overriding question was whether Sarah Palin was up to the task or not.
VP Candidates Hit Their MarksSource: Wall Street Journal
The vice presidential debate between Sarah Palin and Joe Biden turned out to be a tug of war between opposites, pitting not just woman versus man, but outsider versus insider, freshness versus experience, and simplicity versus details.

Here I was, popcorn in hand, expecting Sarah Palin to make a total fool of herself in the VP debate.
Boy, was I wrong.
Its not that she didn't avoided questions ... she did. It's not that she couldn't actually separate McCain from Bush ... she didn't.

From the beginning of the debate, Sarah Palin presented herself well right up until the closing. In some ways it was like watching a beauty pageant contestant giving her memorized views of the world.
