— Peyton Wright, a 24 year-old Sorority Recruiter who currently resides in Dallas, Texas, was left standing alone on the deck of an aircraft carrier after a very emotional and dramatic two-on-one date with Andy Baldwin from The Bachelor: Officer and a Gentleman. BuddyTV participated in an exclusive media teleconference call with Peyton this morning to hear what she had to say about her experience being on the show…
Peyton admitted that it wasn't easy watching Andy take Tessa away in the helicopter and being left alone outside in the cold: "Andy had a helicopter waiting for him and Tessa was waiting for him, and he had chosen her over me, and so that was the way that they left. Yeah, it wasn't the most ideal situation for me to be left standing there by myself, but it was part of the date and that's just unfortunately how it ended for me."
Peyton continues, "That whole day and that whole evening was just so emotional because all that was going through my head was I don't know if I'm going to be here or not. So when he chose Tessa, I was happy for her, I was happy for them, but at the same time I put myself out there and told him exactly how I felt and I took that risk and it didn't turn out the way I wanted it to. So that was very emotional for me.
Although things didn't turn out the way she would have liked them to, Peyton says her opinion of Andy still hasn't changed and she wishes him all the best. "Andy is very outgoing, he has a bright personality, he's easy to talk to and easy to get a long with. That's what I think was really attractive to me about Andy and that's why I wanted to ultimately be with him in the end."
"Andy is an amazing person. He has worked so hard to get where he is in life and I just really hope that he found someone through this show. I heard he is engaged and I hope that they're truly happy and I'm really hoping to see a wedding come out of this one."
So who will Andy end up with by the end of the show? Well, we all know that Peyton and Tessa started to bond as friends, so it wasn't surprising that Peyton felt like Tessa would be the likely candidate: "Being on a two-on-one date with Tessa, she was one of my favorites on the show and I think that her personality just shines and she was very comfortable around Andy. So I think that I would say that she goes far and she's probably the one that I'm going to be rooting for to win in the end.
Now that Peyton had a chance to experience all that she did, BuddyTV asked if she had any advice for other women out there looking for romance? Peyton shares, "I think it's really important to put yourself out there and to really make it known what you want in a person. Other than that, know what you want in yourself because I think you have to make yourself happy before you can truly be happy with another person."
That's good advice. And for any women out there still searching for that perfect man who may have even slightly entertained the thought of trying out for The Bachelor, Peyton leaves us with her perspective on what it was like trying to date one guy with 24 other women: "You tend to forget what the other women are there for. I almost had tunnel vision when I was with Andy like I was the only one there. And then you finish your conversation with him and then all of a sudden he's engulfed with another woman. So that was really hard to kind of grasp that you weren't the only one that he was thinking about.
