— Childress losing faith of his players?
Vikings head coach Brad Childress apparently really, really wants Brett Favre to come to Minnesota, mostly because it would likely save his job at season’s end. He’s apparently been losing the faith of his players since the first day he arrived in Minnesota. They supposedly aren’t impressed with his offensive playbook. Pro Bowl center Matt Birk, a Minnesota native who was the team for a decade, supposedly left in part because he didn’t think Childress would be there after this season. (National Football Post)
Gloria Estefan buying into Dolphins
Dolphins fans should get ready to do the conga. Gloria Estefan and her husband are apparently buying a minority stake of the team later this week. Rumor has it the team owners wanted to try and entice the growing Hispanic population of South Florida to be more interested in the Dolphins and asked the Estefans to join in the ownership. That should help the Dolphins reach out to Miami’s Hispanic community. (Miami Herald)
Bruschi not sure if this is his last go-round
Patriots linebacker Tedy Bruschi is about to play his 14th season and his contract runs out when it’s over. Will he hang ‘em up after the season finishes? Even he doesn’t know. It really depends on how he feels at season’s end. (Boston Globe)
Pack close to signing extension with WR Jennings
The Packers are apparently not ready to run without wide receiver Greg Jennings. He is apparently close to getting a contract extension done with the team. It could be around $8 million a year. Not bad for a guy who has only been in the workforce for four years. (Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel)
