— Operations at Newark Liberty International Airport's Terminal C in New Jersey were halted Sunday night after a man apparently walked through the exit lane at a security checkpoint.
TSA spokesperson Sari Koshetz told NBC News that the agency was attempting to identify and locate the man, and that passengers in the terminal would be rescreened.
NBC News producer Katie Primm, who was on board a plane scheduled to depart, said passengers were being taken off the jet for rescreening.
CNN reported that the incident mainly affected Contentinal Airlines, the airport's largest tenant.
The FAA warned that due to the security breach and weather conditions in the region, flights arriving at Newark could be delayed by about 2 hours.
